My first book, Get A Grip, Love, was published by HQ at Harper Collins in January 2021. It's an honest, unfiltered (and at times a little sweary) look at what does and doesn't help our mental health.
Reviews have included gems such as:
"I really enjoyed reading this book, which is strange considering it is a book about depression, but it handles all aspects of Kate's depression with a joke or a funny anecdote. I couldn't put the book down because I wanted to read the key "clapbacks" at the end of each chapter which provide useful advice on dealing with people who don't understand mental health problems or those who try to down play the illness."
"An incredibly well written, brutally honest and at times hilarious account of depression. A must read if you or someone you know suffers with mental illness."
"The personal narrative is painful, emotional and often (can I say this?) really funny. I actually felt a renewed sense of understanding and it made me question all my pre-conceived ideas about depression and its treatment. Lucey is clearly a talented writer who I can’t wait to read more from in the future. Couldn’t recommend more!"
